TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS:
Anytime a print is giving issues with pressing, the resolution is always pressure, time, and/or temp. Pressing instructions are a guide, as every heat press is different and you HAVE to get to know YOUR press and the settings it prefers.
When peeling off the carrier sheet, if it’s not easily releasing, carefully lay transfer sheet back down and press again. Whenever you peel the paper off, if its giving any resistance and not peeling off smooth and easy, do NOT keep pulling the paper off. You can rip the ink doing that. Stop peeling when you feel or see any resistance and lay it back down, adjust heat and/or pressure, and repress.
Heat presses can run hotter or colder than set to, and can lose heat in between pressing shirts from the constant opening and closing. A heat gun is recommended to make sure your press is running at correct temperature.
Pro Tip: If you go to peel a print and it’s not fully releasing nice and clean off the film, use something to protect your hand from the hot print, like the excess shirt fabric you’re pressing, and rub over the print firmly, pressing it into the shirt fabric, but quickly so the print doesn’t completely cool, and try peeling again! You can then cover the print with parchment for a second press to really seal the print
** HEAT PRESSES CAN LOSE PERFORMANCE OVER TIME. HEAT MAY BECOME INCONSISTENT, PLATEN MAY BECOME WARPED AND NOT PROVIDE EVEN PRESSURE. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH PRINTS.
HEAVY PRESSURE IS REQUIRED WHEN PRESSING SCREEN PRINT TRANSFERS. YOUR HEAT PRESS PRESSURE SHOULD BE SET SO TIGHT THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO OPEN/CLOSE THE PRESS, REQUIRING 2 HANDS AND ELBOW GREASE. MOST ISSUES WITH PRESSING PRINTS IS DUE TO NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE!!
Seams of the garment on the press can affect pressure, try to get all seams off of the press.
A HEAT PRESS WITH EVEN PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE IS REQUIRED TO USE THESE TRANSFERS. Heat gun is recommended to get accurate temperature reading of your press.
No Teflon sheet. If repress is necessary, cover design with parchment paper. A pressing pillow may be used to repress a trouble area. It is NOT recommended to use an Easy Press with our products.
Screen print transfers can be used on any color garment. 100% cotton, and poly/cotton blends recommended.
Care Instructions for washing tshirts with screen print transfers applied to the shirt:
Turn garment inside out. Machine wash cold. Mild detergent. No bleach. No fabric softener. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not iron directly on design.
